Curated by Kristi Rangel, Earth Bound: Gardening for Liberation gathers community through ritual, storytelling, and the healing language of the garden.
Led by garden steward Janice Brown of Girl on the Grow, attendees were guided through the garden in an immersive exploration of medicinal herbs, plant knowledge, and ecosystem care. Through shared wisdom on the benefits and relationships of the plants growing within the space, the garden became both classroom and sanctuary; a site of nourishment, remembrance, and liberation.
Garden fairy tales and poetry moved throughout the gathering, inspiring participants to create original works of their own. Within this space, the garden is understood not simply as landscape, but as an intergenerational portal; holding ancestral knowledge, imagination, and healing across time.
Light bites, herbal tea, and conversation unfolded as acts of communion.
These photographs bear witness to the intimate act of tending... to land, to memory, and to one another.
